Common Questions
What do I need to prove my identity?
Every signer must show valid (not expired) photo identification. All identifications must contain a photo, a physical description, a signature, and a serial number, Arizona recognizes the following types of identification if issued within the last 5 years:
- State-issued driver’s license
- State-issued identification card
- U.S. military identification card
- Resident allien identification card
- U.S Passport
What can't you notarize for me?
In Arizona, a notary public is prohibited from notarizing the following:
- Their own signature.
- The signature of any person who is related to the notary by marriage or adoption.
- it is important to note that a notary public should also avoid notarizing for family members, even if they are not related by marriage or adoption, to prevent any appearence of bias.
What are your fees?
For general notary work, the fee is $10 per signature plus mileage if you are more than 10 miles from our office.
For loan signing agent work, the fee is $75-110.
I need a copy certified that it is an original, can you do that for me?
We can as long as is not a publicly recorded document. For example, we can certify that a copy of something you wrote is an exact copy because I as the notary will make the copy I certify.
When the document is a puclic recordable, I can not certify that. Examples of publicly recordable documents NOT able to be copy certified by an Arizona notary public are:
- Marriage Records
- Birth Certificates
- Death Certificates
- Divorce Records
- Court Records
- Real Estate Deeds
NOTE: Some recorded documents have the words “filed” or “received” stamped on them. We still cannot certify them because they are publicly recorded and you will have to go to that state department to obtain that copy.
